Hari Kumar is the father of our three students Love, Khush and Vishu. At the age of six both his parents died and he was kicked out of the house by his brother. He ended up on the streets of Delhi. He started to sell vegetables and with just 750 INR (€7,50) he started his own business.

As a child he learned how to make handmade leather sandals. He bought his first raw materials and began to craft. Now, Hari ji makes these precious camel leather sandals and sells them for just 130 INR on the local Pushkar market. His home slowly transforms into a sandal factory.

The Blue House Project supports local artisans through education, employment and primary life needs. We want to support Hari ji’s business by selling and promoting his sandals. 100% of our price goes to Hari ji. Order these sandals on our website or message us for a wholesale deal.
